A WARM WELCOME TO THE COTTAGE

A smooth transition into our care

If you are interested in receiving treatment at The Cottage, our Programme Co-ordinator will send you our information pack detailing cost, your options, rules, and an example of a typical week on the programme. Knowing exactly what the stay will entail, allows clients to feel as comfortable and as relaxed as possible.

Our Enquiry team assess every individual thoroughly before they are admitted. The assessment can be either over the phone, via Skype or in person. A face-to-face meeting offers the chance to view the Cottage first. This is a complimentary and confidential process which will give you the opportunity to discuss and explore all treatment options available. We also carefully review the client's medical history to ensure that their needs can be met. Through this process your assessor will be able to identify your initial issues and any contributing factors.

Recovery plan

After your assessor has an understanding of your needs, they will work with you to create an initial recovery plan and ensure that you have everything necessary for a productive and comfortable stay. This includes helping you make any necessary travel arrangements. Our team is completely flexible around your needs, so your treatment will not affect any other commitments you may already have.

A more in depth assessment will take place during your stay, carried out by your Primary Therapist, Consultant Psychiatrist and Dietician.

Our therapies are backed by scientific evidence and research and chosen because they are the most effective ways to treat issues surrounding addictions, eating disorders and other mental health issues. Our team have spent years working with these therapies and provide the finest, most unparalleled treatment experience for each and every one of our clients.

Our Processes

  1. Call us today

Our Programme Co-ordinator will send you our information pack detailing cost, key information about the programmes we offer and an example of a typical week on the programme. Knowing exactly what the stay will entail, allows clients to feel as comfortable and as relaxed as possible.

  2. Consultation

As indicated our Programme Co-ordinator will send you our information pack detailing cost, key information about the programmes we offer and an example of a typical week on the programme. Knowing exactly what the stay will entail, allows clients to feel as comfortable and as relaxed as possible. They will also arrange and undertake pre-admission assessments, schedule appointments to show you around the facility and be on hand to answer your questions.

  3. Begin Treatment

Your treatment will begin with a detailed assessment with our consultant, primary therapist, nurse and GP. Through this we will get a solid understanding of your history, current situation and identified needs. This will be the fundamental foundations for the creation of your bespoke care plan. The assessment, planning and delivery of your care, treatment and support is centred on you as an individual and considers all aspects of your circumstances, and your immediate and longer-term needs. This includes ensuring we reflect your needs, preferences and diversity in a consultative way by involving you in your care plan creation. The assessment process is key to identifying your needs and your engagement in this process will ensure that you understand the plan and your needs are addressed. Your safety and wellbeing is our priority and therefore where there are identified risks, the care plan says how these will be managed and reviewed and relates back to the risk assessments. Equally importantly your care plan will lay out the goals that you wish to achieve while you are in treatment as well as your immediate and long terms goals for when you leave. Your care plan is a living document and will be reviewed with you on a weekly basis and adjusted where needed. Our Programme Coordinator will support the care plan process by generating a weekly programme for you that will contain all aspects of provision care that will be required to support you to reach your goal. This will include one to one psychotherapy, complimentary therapies, medical consultations with our GP’s and consultant psychiatrist and physical health elements such as access to a personal trainer, swimming etc.

  4. Discharge plan

The key to your discharge plan is the work you will do on your relapse prevention plan. Each relapse prevention plan will be unique and tailored to your needs. It will be something that we will support you working on not long after you have completed some of your key assignments such as you life events work or your Step 1. It will contain themes and coping mechanisms to support you in long term recovery. For some clients this may sit around referral back to the therapist that you have been working with for others who don’t have a therapists this may mean referral to one from our list of preferred providers. Alternatively your relapse prevention plan may contain further work at a secondary facility, stepped down day care, access to a sponsor and a range of fellowship meetings or in some cases we have recommend sober living coaches or sober living companions. Whatever the plan is that we have created with you if followed it will give you the best opportunity of long term recovery.
