Hospital Director and Registered Manager
Chris Cordell has over 20 years of managerial experience, a proportion of which have been at a senior level for a leading UK Third Sector substance misuse organisation. He has been Hospital Director and Registered Manager for Life Works since 2010.
Enquiries Manager and Bespoke Services Coordinator
Isabelle possess a great deal of understanding and appreciation of the process of recovery and a solid knowledge of the 12 step program. She holds a Certificate in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This comprehensive course gave her an opportunity to learn about counselling and psychotherapy whilst developing her counselling skills, empathetic responses, and to learn more about myself and others. She is currently working through a Pitman Executive PA diploma.
She has extensive experience in customer service through her role with TAG Aviation who leads the world in private and business aviation services and the Royal Dubai Air Wing. Within these roles her duties included liaising with household staff, chauffeurs, chefs, composing menus and offering a bespoke, confidential and discrete VIP packages.
Therapy Services Manager and Lead Eating Disorder Therapist
Steve is a member of the BACP and FDAP and has worked for several years in private practice specialising in the psychology of addictive behaviour and holds a MSc in Addictions Psychology and Counselling at London South Bank University. He specialises in an integrative approach drawing on a wide variety of therapeutic modalities. He looks at how addiction forms psychologically, genetically and biologically. Steve holds a Master Practitioner qualification in eating disorders & obesity which is approved by the British Psychological Society Learning Centre. In the past Steve has worked for a charity specialising with children of dysfunctional families including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma. Not only does he specialise in addiction and eating disorders, but Steve also has a background with several senior roles with blue chip corporate organizations and as such fully understands the complexity and difficulty how addiction and eating disorders also impacts within the workplace.

Primary Therapist and Sex Addiction Lead
Robin completed his training in addiction counselling at Clouds in 2002 and has spent the last 13 years working for major addiction treatment providers in the UK. He is a strong advocate of both 12 Step treatment and long term recovery through the 12 Step programme. Robin believes in encouraging clients to engage honestly with others whilst in treatment and to continue this process by meeting regularly with other recovering people for support. He is particularly keen on involving the family in the treatment process and has considerable experience of facilitating groups in the family programme. Robin also holds a CPCAB accredited Diploma in Sex Addiction Counselling.
BACP, Fda and BA (Hons)
Warren holds BACP and Fda accredited qualifications in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, including BA (Hons). His counselling approach is from am integrative theoretical framework and as such encapsulates: psychodynamic, humanistic, transpersonal, CBT, transactional analysis and solution focused therapy. Warren has a professional relationship with Life Works than spans more than 7 years and over that time he has supported hundreds of clients with their day-today struggles and exploring their after-care choices.
Counsellor - Primary Therapist and CBT Lead
Jan is a CAPCB accredited therapist in integrative therapeutic counseling. Her approaches are psychodynamic, person centred, existential and cognitive behavioural. Jan holds post graduate qualifications in CBT and in group therapy as well as further training in mindfulness based stress reduction. Jan has a professional relationship with Life Works spanning more than 2 years and as CBT lead she leads on Life Works treatment for those client presenting with primary conditions of depression and anxiety.
Barry holds a MA in Drama and Movement Therapy (Sesame), a BA (Hons) in Drama from the University of Manchester and a PGDip In Counselling from the University of North London. His professional background prior to training as a Dramatherapist was as a therapeutic counsellor. He has many years experience of working within both the private and voluntary sector. His work experience includes: LGBT clients, people recovering from problematic alcohol or substance misuse, mental health issues (depression, personality disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders and OCD), dual diagnosis, older clients, loss and bereavement, children and young people, sexuality, gender, sexual health and HIV.
Dr Mas Syed
Dr Mas Syed completed his undergraduate medical qualification at The University of Leicester Medical School in 2004. He qualified as a General Practitioner in 2008 having worked in many London Hospitals. He has been practising in Surrey thereafter and has been a GP Partner since 2011. He has also previously worked as a Medical Director for an Out of Hours company covering South West London. He has special interests in Mental Health, Chronic Disease Management and also Men’s Health.
Dr. Temi Ogbe Uwen

Dr Uwen is a Psychiatrist with over twenty years’ psychiatric experience gained across a wide range of inpatient and community based psychiatric services, for adults and older adults.
She has extensive experience in specialised Drug, Alcohol and Addictions services, and has worked primarily in this area alone for almost five years. Her responsibilities have included prescribing; doing titrations, medical reviews, attending/chairing multidisciplinary team meetings, making decisions about management of patients and also managing alcohol detox programmes in the community. She has also been involved in management of patients on club drugs.
She has also worked extensively as a psychiatrist in adult mental health, where she was involved in management of patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has been actively involved in Consultant ward rounds and participated in the community multi-disciplinary team meetings as well as managing acute psychiatry emergencies.. In addition to the above she has also worked in child and adolescent psychiatry where she worked with multi-disciplinary team comprising Psychotherapists, Psychologists, Social Workers, Drama therapists, etc. She had the opportunity of managing children with behavioural problems (attention deficit disorders (included) hence her involvement in behavioural therapy, also psychotherapy and pharmacotherapy.
Dr Fatima Khan
MBBS, BSc, DRCOG, MRCGP
Dr Fatima Khan completed her undergraduate medical qualification including her BSc (in pharmacology & therapeutics) at Imperial College London in 2007. She qualified as a General Practitioner in 2013 after completing her training in various South West London hospitals gaining clinical experience in Care of the Elderly, Paediatrics, Womens health (obstetrics & gynaecology), Accident & Emergency, Psychiatry, General Surgery, General Medicine and Primary Care. The experience gained has given her the confidence and competence to fulfil her role as a GP and provide personalised patient centre care. She believes patients should be empowered to make decisions regarding their healthcare management.
HCPC – Dietician
Nigel is an effective and knowledgeable dietitian and nutritionist and certified practitioner of eating disorders, with over 15 years’ experience of dealing with a variety of dietetic/nutritional issues in NHS and private facilities. He is adept at quickly seeing the issues that require attention and then enabling the person to achieve the health that they desire.
His areas of specialism include obesity, weight management, eating disorders, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, eczema and adult forensics.
Cindy has over 25 years of experience as a trained registered nurse, during which she has held a number of positions including patient care manager, senior nurse and Ward sister. She has post graduate training at Moorefield’s and St. Thomas hospitals where she gained advanced clinical and management qualifications. She has worked as lead nurse in prisons and has advanced nursing assessment skills. As with all Life Works nurses she is committed to delivery of compassionate, competent care.
Farai is an experienced Health Care Assistant. He has been at Life Works in a variety of capacities, both in The Cottage and at The Grange since 2013. He has worked in the care sector since 2005 working with a variety of client groups both with personal care and medicine administration. As with all of the support team he is there to support the delivery of treatment for all clients entering bespoke services. In this respect he is rresponsible for all relevant aspects of the client experience and delivers care with compassion, competence, courage and commitment and embracing a positive approach to communication.
Chipo has successfully run the Housekeeping Department for over 10 years. Her goal, along with Dawn and the rest of the housekeeping team is to make sure that The Cottage is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and ensure the stay of our clients is as comfortable as possible.
Jill has been head chef at Life Works since 2009 and leads a team of three others. Jill has over 40 years of experience as a Chef both in the public and private sector, including 9 years as Head Chef for House of Fraser. She was formally Head Chef at Farm Place, a Priory owned residential facility for addictions. Jill has extensive experience in catering to clients with eating disorders as well as clients with food requirements that are underpinned by their cultural and religious beliefs.
Jill cooks using only the most wholesome, nutritious ingredients and prepares all dishes fresh, onsite, to the highest standards. The team respond to each individual’s catering needs, working alongside our dietician and personal trainer to ensure that you receive the balanced nutrition required to support you recovery.
Julie specialises in Shiatsu therapy, massage, stretch and relaxation, in which she incorporates acupressure, Qi Gong and meditation techniques to encourage natural relaxation; she is also a Music Workshop Facilitator. She qualified with the British School of Shiatsu and has been working in the Mental Health field for 20 years. Julie has worked in several Addiction Rehabilitation centres as well as working with professional athletes. During her career, Julie has had several articles published including titles 'How Shiatsu-do Helps Recovery From Addiction' and 'Shiatsu Shifts Defensiveness' as well as meditation CDs. Her Continuous Professional Development courses include 'Who is at risk of suicide?', 'CBT in Anger Management', 'Use of Psychotherapy in a Clinical Setting' and 'Grief Counselling'.
Kate has an FDA in counselling and is an accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). She has worked as a counsellor within the NHS for several years and as a supervisor at a support centre for survivors of rape and sexual abuse. Kate adheres to the BACP code of ethics and conduct
As an Equine Assisted therapist she values each person as a unique individual. She has over 1000 hours of experience working as an Equine Assisted therapist in addition to those gained in a traditional setting. She specialises in trauma recovery and has recently embarked on a project involving serving and ex-serving military personnel, for which she has received funding from Help4Heros.

Jules’ approach is integrative and holistic; her approach focuses on the whole self, caring for your mind, body and spirit. Jules offers time, space and opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings. She engages with clients openly and honestly and takes time to value and range of addiction topics and he is involved in major research on neurocognitive impairments associated with addiction and relapse.
Joe is an experienced and qualified personal trainer whose aim is to help clients achieve their goals and full potential on the road to recovery. Joe will review clients’ training plans, their fitness, diet and lifestyle to ensure the best results. Clients can achieve their personal fitness goals in a friendly, welcoming environment and fun environment. Joe uses all the latest equipment including 'Cybex' cardio vascular equipment and ‘Technogym’ resistance machines, plus a range of core equipment.
